Robert Redford’s Porsche on Bonhams

As part of Bonhams Les Grandes Marques du Monde in Paris, a 1964 Porsche 904 GTS will be up for auction next month. This car is a particularly well-preserved example of one of the best-looking race cars of the era and noteworthy because of its one-time owner the actor Robert Redford.

The Redford’s car is one of 100 road-legal units of the car that have been built to meet the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile homologation requirements. This particular example, chassis number 904 012, rolled off the assembly line with a silver finish, and its fiberglass body was painted Irish Green during a restoration in the early 1990s.

This particular 904 GTS left the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen in January 1964 and raced the same year. Redford bought the car two years later and kept it for most of the decade.

Bonhams will unveil the car on February 3 and expects to sell it for between $1.5 million and $ 1.7 million.
