The rarest Fancy Black Diamond “Enigma” weighing 555,55 carats, a new lot of Sotheby’s, is on the mind of all gem hunters.

In the history of auction sales, this is an absolute record – up to this point, stones of much more modest sizes were put up for auction. However, the time has come for this diamond, inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records in 2006, to pass into the caring hands of the most impressed collector.

Prior to this, the stone was not publicly displayed anywhere and was never put up for sale – for twenty years it belonged to one person who received it in its raw form. It is reported that it will be possible to buy a precious masterpiece for cryptocurrency without a reserve price. Representatives of Sotheby’s expect that the lot will go under the hammer for five to six million dollars.
