Since the presentation of the cover of the studio album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”, Kendrick Lamar’s crown of thorns has been admired and commanded attention. It was a collaboration between Kendrick, Dave Free and Tiffany and Co. “The crown is a godly representation of hood philosophies told from a digestible youthful lens,” says longtime friend and business partner of rapper, Dave Free.

This crown from Tiffany and Co. made a splash and will definitely enter the list of significant creations for the brand, which has been famous for its crowns and tiaras since the 19th century. Tiffany created this crown especially for Kendrick, inspired by the Schlumberger brooch. Made of titanium, the crown is encrusted with 9,000 diamonds, totaling 150 carats. It took over 10 months to create.

“Kendrick Lamar represents the artistry, risk-taking creativity and relentless innovation that has also defined Tiffany and Co. for nearly two centuries. We are proud and incredibly excited to work with a visionary like Kendrick in realising his vision for the crown.”, says Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president, product and communication, Tiffany & Co.
